Dress Up!

Today my friend Rebecca and I played dress up at Caroline's house!
We acted out the story of Little Red Riding Hood!

"I'm going to go take some muffins and apples to Grandmother!"

Caroline, disguised as the Big Bad Wolf, hid behind a bush.

"Why, hello, Red!"

 "Oh, hello!" Red answered.
"Aren't you going to pick some flowers for your grandmother?" The wolf asked.

"Oh, sure I will!" said Red, deciding that it'd be a nice surprise.

So she skipped over to a cluster of flowers and plucked them.

 They were beautiful!

Red picked them and continued to her Grandmother's cottage.

"Hello, deary!" Grandmother said when Red Riding Hood arrived.
"Oh my! Grandmother, are you well?" Red asked.

"Of course, deary! Come closer so I can see you!"

 "ROAR!"
It was the wolf!

 "AHHHHH!"

Meanwhile, the gardener had been watching from the window and hurried in
swinging a knife, bringing the wolf to the floor.

 And Grandmother was safe again!

 "Oh, Grandmother! You're okay!"

 "I love you, Grandmother."

We had so much fun using our imaginations to tell a story!

Brooke's Yummy Surprise

This afternoon, I got a text message from Brooke saying to come to the park
after dinner for a surprise. She also said to bring cash.
I couldn't wait to find out what it was!

When I arrived at the park later, I saw some commotion out by the ball field.
It had to be Brooke.

And it was! Brooke was running her own snack cart! I quickly got in line.

There were so many delicous treats to choose from!

"Hey Willow! So glad you could make it!" Brooke hollered above all the chatter.

Mia soon got in line behind me. It just kept growing!

"All this stuff looks amazing!" McKenna said.
"Sure does!" I agreed as my stomach growled.

Maybe I should get an ice cream sandwich like Julie, I thought.

Or roasted corn and a fruit kabob like McKenna.

But I finally decided to get a basket of french fries and a sweet ice cream cone!

"How's business going?" I asked Brooke.
"Great!" she replied.

"Just look at all the money I've made!"

I watched as Mia added some mustard to a hot, juicy hot dog.
I almost regretted not getting one!

The girls and I sat down on a blanket to eat our treats together.

"This home made ice cream is fantastic!" I exclaimed.

"And this corn is so ripe and sweet!" McKenna said.

"I just came from tennis practice so I couldn't resist an ice cream sanwich!" Julie giggled.

"Everything is great!" Mia added.

Brooke sipped a fresh berry smoothie and thought to herself,
What a great sale day!

And what a delicious treat! I thought.

Picnic in the Park

Yesterday I went on a picnic in the local park!

My grandma packed me a delicious Mexican lunch!

The sun was so bright and warm.

 The burritos were amazing.

After I finished eating, I took a nap in the sun.

 It was a wonderful day.

Visiting with Caroline

Tomorrow, my friend Sophie is leaving for vacation at Hilton Head Island,
so today she invited me over for a delicious treat!

"Could I offer you another piece of cherry pie?"  Sophie asked.
"I think I've got plenty here!" I laughed. I licked my lips as the juicy cherries dripped off my whopping slice.

I finished it off with a scoop of fresh vanilla ice cream Sophie made herself!

She used this old fashioned ice cream maker!

Don't you just love pie with ice cream?!

Paige's Performace

A while back I spent the night at Saige and Paige's house.
I kept forgetting to post these photos, but here they are now!

Saige was helping me pack up my suitcase when we heard Paige beginning to practice
for her violin lesson.
"Let's go listen!" I suggested.
"Okay!" Saige agreed.

I watched with amazment as Paige's fingers moved quickly and her bow swiftly.
She played a fast-paced Irish song.

"Wow," I said, "She's really good!"
"Yes," Saige agreed, "She gets better every day."

After Paige was done, I gave her a high-five.
"That was incredible!" I said.
"Thanks." Paige blushed.

We had a great time together.

Do you play an instrument?
